My career has been built around working closely with artists, galleries, collectors and arts organisations across exhibitions, publications, sales and gallery programmes.

For over a decade, I have worked at BEERS London, an internationally recognised contemporary art gallery, where I managed the day-to-day running of the gallery and worked across exhibitions, artist relationships, sales, client development, communications, logistics and international projects.

During this time, I worked closely with artists at different stages of their careers, supporting exhibitions, publications, studio projects and professional development. I also developed relationships with collectors, curators, institutions and other galleries through years of working within the commercial contemporary art world.

This experience has given me first-hand insight into both the creative and practical realities of working within the art world. It has also shown me that many talented artists struggle not because of the quality of their work, but because the professional side of developing a career is rarely taught.

Rebecca Smith Projects

I established Rebecca Smith Projects to provide practical, informed support across the contemporary art sector, working with artists, galleries and other arts professionals.

For artists, this can mean developing their professional practice, preparing for new opportunities, strengthening their positioning or working through what comes next. For galleries and arts organisations, I offer support across areas including exhibition projects, artist liaison, research, communications, administration and project management.

My approach is informed by years of working within the gallery system, alongside a broad network of artists, collectors, curators, institutions and other industry professionals. I understand the realities of the commercial art world and the different perspectives and expectations that shape it.

RSP is deliberately collaborative and flexible. Rather than offering a fixed formula, I work with each client to understand what they are trying to achieve and provide the practical support, perspective or expertise needed to move the project forward.
